Azure Event Hub Source Configuration

  1. Prerequisites:
  • The Azure Event Hub namespace must be in the Standard or higher tier.
  • Enable Kafka interface (Microsoft provides configuration instructions).
  1. Configuration Fields:
  • Shared Access Policy: A policy with Listen permissions on the Event Hub (not a namespace-level policy).
  • Connection String: Primary or secondary key from the shared access policy.
  • Consumer Group: A dedicated group for each pipeline (create a new one if existing groups are in use).
  • Event Hub Name: List of Event Hubs to read from (comma-separated).
  • Decoding Type: Choose between Bytes or JSON.
  1. Save: Click Save to activate the source.

Important Notes:

  • A new consumer group starts reading from the beginning of the Event Hub’s retention period.
  • Verify data flow by checking if active logs are ingested into Mezmo.
