# Basic Configuration of a Pipeline with In-Stream Alerts

The [In-stream Alerts](https://docs.mezmo.com/2.8/telemetry-pipelines/set-in-stream-alerts) feature enables you to set alert conditions for any component of a pipeline, which means you can receive alerts for data in-stream, instead of having to wait for the change condition to be indexed by your observability tool.
