# Compact Fields Processor

## Compact Fields Processor

**Purpose:** This processor removes empty or unnecessary fields from log events, compacting data to reduce transmission size.

**Key Features:**

* **Field Filtering:** Specify fields to retain; empty values are automatically removed.
* **Data Efficiency:** Ideal for logs with sparse or redundant data (e.g., empty fields).

**Steps to Add:**

1. Edit your pipeline and click **Add Processor**.
2. Select **Compact Fields** and add a title/description.
3. Define the fields to compact, referencing data profiles (found in the secondary sidebar) for field structure insights.
